Research Proposal Writing: Stage One

The THESIS Proposal WRITING WORKSHOP IS A Six DAYS INTENSIVE PROGRAM

Research Proposal

  • Research proposal writing is an integral part of admission to the Higher Degree Research Program, such as Research Master’s, DBA and PhD.
  • While a quality research proposal may attract a prospective thesis supervisor, it may not focus on a university key research areas. Therefore, there will be no guarantee that  such proposal will attract a scholarship.

Workshop Audiences

  • Those who would like to enrol in a research Master’s, DBA or a PhD Program in a University in Australia, New Zealand or the United Kingdom.
  • Students who are already in a Higher Degree Research (HDR) Program and writing a proposal as part of their Confirmation of Candidature (CoC).

Workshop Learning Objectives

  • Students will be able to know how to write a research proposal.
  • Students will be able to finalise their research proposals as part of  Confirmation of Candidature (CoC).

Workshop Timetable

  • Day 1: 6:00 PM- 10:00 PM
  • Day 2: 6:00 PM- 10:00 PM
  • Day 3: 6:00 PM- 10:00 PM
  • Day 4: 6:00 PM- 10:00 PM
  • Day 5: 6:00 PM- 10:00 PM
  • Day 6: 6:00 PM- 10:00 PM

All times are based on Australian Eastern Standard Time which is the time Sydney, New South Wales Time.

Workshop Venue

The workshop will be offered online via zoom. The students will have access to all resources through MYAABR learning platform. The details will be provided after registration.

The Cost

  • The total cost for initial proposal writing for a Higher Degree Research Program admission is A$5,000 for 10 students. The students in this category will attend only on days 1-3.
  • The total cost for Research Proposal Writing as part of a Higher Degree Research Confirmation of Candidature (CoC) is A$10,000 for 10 students. The students in this category will attend all the six days of the workshop.
    We will not be able to offer either type of workshop if the total enrolment is less than 10 students.
  • The workshop cost per student may go up depending on the number of students enrolled.

Workshop Facilitator
Eltayyeb Al-Fakir Al Rabab'a

Eltayyeb Al-Fakir Al Rabab’a, PhD is an academic staff member Victoria University,  Brisbane Campus, Australia. His research interests are sustainable finance, ESG performance and disclosures, corporate finance, and corporate governance. He holds a PhD in finance, an M.A. in Finance, and a BSc in Management Information Systems (MIS). His PhD thesis examined the corporate carbon performance and access to finance in the context of Asia-Pacific countries. He contributed to national and international research communities, such as acting as a referee to some of the leading peer-reviewed journals and presenting papers at the 2021 FMCG conference, the Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics (JCAE) Mid-Year conference (QUT University) and the 2022 AFFANZ conference. He is also a member of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ). He published a research paper in the International Review of Financial Analysis (ABDC A ranked journal).
